What Are Quota Heirs?
Quota heirs (Sahibul Fardh)are the heirs whose shares of inheritance are fixed by the Qur'an, Sunnah, or scholarly consensus (Ijma). They are entitled to their inheritance first, before any residue is distributed to Asabah.
There are 12 Quota heirs in total — 8 female and 4 male. Two inherit by reason of marriage; the remaining 10 inherit by blood. The primary heirs (spouse, both parents, sons and daughters) always receive a share and are never fully excluded.

Priority & Exclusion Rules
After distributing the prescribed portions of Quota heirs, if any property remains, it is then distributed to the Asabah in order of priority, then to Zawul Arham if no Asabah exist.
Under certain circumstances, daughters, granddaughters, and sisters can shift from being Quota heirs to Asabah — for example, when they inherit alongside their brothers. This interaction between groups is one of the more complex aspects of Faraid that the app handles automatically.
